Taking a swipe at the erstwhile ruling parties in Tripura, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the BJP had freed the state from fear and violence. While addressing an election rally at Ambassa in Dhalai district, PM Modi said, "For decades, the rule of Congress and Communists hindered the development of Tripura. The BJP government brought development in Tripura. Violence isn't anymore the identity of Tripura. The BJP made the state free from fear and violence."
He further said, "Earlier, police stations in Tripura were captured by the CPM cadre, but now under the BJP rule, there's a rule of law in the state." Speaking about women empowerment in Tripura, PM Modi said, "Now, there's women empowerment in the state and there is an ease of living."
Praising the development of the state under the BJP rule, the prime minister said, "5,000 km of roads were built in Tripura to connect its villages. A new airport was also built in Agartala. Optical fibre and 4G connectivity are being brought to villages. Now, Tripura is becoming global. We're developing waterways to connect the northeast and Tripura with ports."
While beginning his election campaign in Tripura, PM Modi said, "The BJP government is focussing on increasing the income of people in Tripura. Money has been transferred into the bank accounts of farmers under PM-Kisan. This amount will be increased once the BJP comes back to power. Under our rule, farmers are reaping the benefits of MSP (minimum support prices)."
